Ian Fredricks – Assistant Coach
Ian is in his first season working with JCU as an assistant coach. Ian brings a wealth of coaching and playing experience to the Blue Streaks staff. Ian got his start in coaching with Gilmour Prep and soon moved to Atlanta as the Head Coach of the Atlanta U18 hockey program. Ian’s next stop was Maine at the North Yarmouth Academy, before spending 3 seasons with the Youngstown Phantoms in the NAHL. During Ian’s time as Assistant Coach in Youngstown, the Phantoms made the National Tournament twice.
Ian grew up in the Cleveland area playing hockey, before leaving for Sarnia to play Juniors. After one season in Sarnia, Fredricks attended and played for Westminster Prep in CT, and then spent a year at Lake Superior State University before completing a successful 4 seasons with the New England College Pilgrim’s in the ECAC East.
Ian has a BA in Philosophy with a minor in History from New England College.
